SC firecracker ban: Good for the environment, even better for your purse

While almost everyone acknowledges that the ban will keep pollution levels relatively under control, many people are busy calculating the money they will save by not buying firecrackers.

Incidentally, every family spends an average of Rs 5,000 on the purchase of crackers during Diwali. “I spend Rs 4,000 to Rs 5,000 on crackers alone for my children. However, this time, I shall use the money to buy them good gifts,” said Saurabh Singh, a resident of Paras Tierea, a society in Sector 137, Noida. Apartment management software
