NOIDA CEO meets with a delegation of home buyers of Horizon Irida

Today a group of homebuyers of Horizon Irida, a stalled housing project in Noida Sector 86, met with Alok Tandon, chief executive officer of NOIDA (New Okhla Industrial Development Authority) and handed over a memorandum of demands.

The delegation also wanted to know why NOIDA had stalled construction work of Horizon Irida in 2015, owing to which hundreds of homebuyers who had invested in the project in 2012 and 2013 are now homeless. These buyers have already paid the major portion of their apartment price to the builder. When the project was stalled through a notice of NOIDA (owing to some legal issues) construction had been completed till the fourteenth floor. Buyers however were not informed about the exact nature of these legal issues. Noida local news

Shweta Bharti, General Secretary of Noida Extension Flat Buyers Welfare Association, a group of home buyers of stalled housing projects, said that they have demanded the CEO to look into the matter and ensure justice. In her words, “We have apprised Tandon about the exact problems that we are facing on account of delayed possession and have urged him to initiate action against the builder. Also we have demanded that every buyer should receive compensation as per the sale and purchase agreement that he/she has inked with the builder.”
Alok Tandon has noted all these concerns and assured the buyers that he would initiate action against the builder.
