Gurgaon: Senior citizens karaoke their way down memory lane

Yesterday evening, around 35 senior citizens from various sectors of Gurgaon congregated at the Arya Samaj Mandir Auditorium to enthral the audience with Bollywood songs of the 1960s and 1970s. The event was organised by the Global Cultural Foundation.

The enthusiastic singers took the audience on a trip down memory lane as they delivered captivating renditions of timeless numbers by Lata Mangeshkar, Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhonsle. The songs were played on karaoke tracks.
Speaking to City Spidey, founder of Global Cultural Foundation, Col RC Chaddha, said, “It was nice to see senior citizens participating in such a forum. They were applauded by the audience, which translated to a boost for their morale. The very fact that this senior fraternity could put up such a mesmerising performance on stage after days of training was a milestone in itself.” Apartment management software
Parminder Singh, a resident of DLF Phase 4, voiced a similar sentiment. In his words, “It was lovely hearing such old songs. It made us nostalgic and we all remembered our younger days. Events such as these help us socialise and meet our contemporaries.”
