Saturday provided a breakthrough for the
home buyers of Amrapali Dream Valley who successfully registered an FIR
against the defaulting directors of Amrapali in the Bisrakh (in Greater
Noida) Police Station. Amrapali Dream Valley, a residential project of
Greater Noida, has been stalled by the developer citing an ongoing fund
crunch.
The FIR, filed by Ashok Kumar stated that when he had booked a flat
in 2009 the developer had assured
possession within a stipulated period of 36 months and that there was
an agreement to support this claim. As per the agreement, an extension
of six months was permissible for the developer. However, today after
eight years, possession has still not been given.
The complainant stated that there are about 1000 home buyers in the
stalled housing project, who obviously are contending with the same
situation. Individual buyers have already paid nearly 60 to 70 percent
of the total cost of their booked flats.
Kumar states that buyers are now suspecting that the developer has
invested their money in some other housing project or in some personal
luxury purchase. This translates to a serious case of cheating and
forgery with buyers as they have all invested their hard earned money in
this project.

This includes Anil Sharma, Chief Managing Director of
Amrapali group; Shivpriya, Director of Amrapali Group and Mohit Gupta,
Director of the company. They have all been booked under section 420
(for forgery) and 406 (breach of trust).
The FIR has been registered with the Bisrakh police station in Greater Noida and further investigations have already commenced.
Interestingly, earlier the UP police was not lodging
the FIR against the developer saying that the matter
does not fall under its purview. apartment management software
The complaint has been lodged only after a high-powered committee appointed by
the CM intervened in the matter and ordered the police that FIR has to
be registered.
Buyers of different housing projects being developed by the Amrapali
Group have been carrying on an indefinite agitation outside the
corporate office of the company for 22 days now. The flagship issue
highlighted in the protest is possession.
Though local MLAs, MPs and ministers of the UP government have
assured the protestors that they shall extend all support to ensure that
possession is delivered by Amrapali, the protest rages on. The home
buyers say that they want these assurances to be delivered in writing
and not words.
Incidentally, encouraged by the CM's mandate to lodge FIRs against
defaulting developers, suffering homebuyers have also lodged FIRs
against Supertech, Alpine Realtech, JNC The Park and Today Homes .
