Noida Authority starts a pruning drive

Finally giving in to the longstanding demand of RWAs, Noida Authority has, at last, started a drive to prune trees and cut grass across parks in the city.
According to officials, every day five residential sectors will be taken up for pruning.
Omvir Singh, director of horticulture, Noida Authority, told City Spidey, “So far, they have finished work in 25 sectors. The drive began from August 23 — and will continue until August 31. Work will start again sometime in September. We will be doing 45 sectors in all.”

Today, the drive was conducted in sectors 19, 22, 35, 37 and 82. Noida News
Ramesh Shekhar, RWA joint secretary of Sector 22, Noida, said, “After three years, Noida Authority is pruning the trees of this sector. But the authority is pruning trees only of the areas surrounding the sector, but not within the sectors. Pruning of trees should also happen where the wires are passing between branches — but they are not doing so at the moment.”
