Gurgaon to soon get 21 more CCTV cameras for better city surveillance

Rising incidents of crime in Gurgaon have sent alarm bells ringing in the city. Though the police are making all possible attempts to maintain security, the lack of CCTV cameras in certain crime-prone spots has made it impossible to solve a number of cases. So much so, that the Gurgaon Police is now thinking of installing 21 CCTV cameras to increase vigilance. Gurgaon News

Whether it was the stalking case at Sector 18 Udyog Vihar, another incident in which one guard was killed and the other badly injured, or that in which a car was stolen at gunpoint in Sector 71, the residents have been facing a slew of criminal incidents. Gurgaon Society News
The installation of the CCTV cameras has been in the pipeline for the past couple of years, but it is only now that the project is being seriously considered. With a budget of almost Rs 2 crore, the cameras will be put at high-risk points. They will have laser-light sensitivity for a clean vision and will be able to rotate 360 degrees for capturing all angles. The monitoring section is to be located at the police commissioner’s office. Speaking to City Spidey, Joginder Singh, RWA president of Sector 57, said, “This initiative should certainly be helpful. Condominiums are not so much under threat as are open sectors. The police should keep this in mind when deciding locations.” Apartment management software
Adding to this, Vikas Ranjan, a resident of Tulip Orange in Sector 70, said, “Our sectors are very isolated and highly vulnerable. We should definitely benefit from this project.”
