How did the Aura society in Sector 110A, Gurgaon, celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi, spanning across three days? By celebrating the idea of “no food wastage”.
The three days were packed with numerous events, keeping the entire society on its toes. After almost a month of planning, Lord Ganesha received the warmest of welcomes — to the reverberating beats of the dhol and the matching steps of the residents.
The days were packed with events and excitement — a magic show, food and game stalls, rangoli and mehendi competitions, a talent hunt and, of course, a cook-off.
Twenty volunteers from Aura worked day and night to make the whole thing a success.
But the high point of the celebrations? Rwa management software
Residents were shown how to reduce food wastage. They were shown videos on the theme. A motivational speech from nutritionist and diabetes educator Niti Munjal was also organised.
“It was an effort from our end to bring the residents together and also encourage them to stop wasting food. I feel if everyone takes a small step, we can make a good difference to the world,” explained Yashesh Yadav, a resident.
Capping it all, visarjan, too, was done in an eco-friendly manner. The idol was immersed in a small tank within the society, and the same water will be used to water the plants inside the complex.
