The date for the much-awaited municipal elections for Gurgaon has today been announced by the Haryana election commissioner. It has been scheduled for September 24.
With the election date finalised, candidates will now be seen preparing for the event. The period for presentation papers will remain between September 8 and September 13; and candidates will be required to furnish mandatory information in a prescribed form to the returning officer by September 14. The amount for contesting the elections has been fixed at Rs 2 lakh and the expenses capped at Rs 5 lakh. Candidates are to maintain a report on their expenditure during the campaign, to be submitted within 30 days of the date of declaration of the election results. apartment management software
Voters will have the option to choose NOTA, or None of the Above, and can be assured of complete secrecy. Dr Dalip Singh appealed to voters to participate in the elections to strengthen the democracy at the grass-roots level.
Raj Kumar Yadav, from Sector 46, who is contesting the elections, said, “The public should be careful while casting their votes and should ensure their decision is purely on the basis of the work done by the candidate and not the caste.”
