"We not only fined the offenders but also removed the films from their cars," said DCP (traffic) Simardeep Singh. Rwa Management System
Ten teams have been deployed across the city to keep vigil on such vehicles and offenders. Many people have removed the tinted films from their cars on Monday, said the police.
Tinted windows were banned as a preventive measure against crimes committed inside cars, such as kidnappings, rape and molestation. Tinted windows also affect visibility and can lead to accidents.
Apart from this drive, the city's traffic police has also appealed to residents to report on their Facebook page any misuse of red and blue beacons on vehicles.
