Noida Resident Smriti Accomplishes Her Dream, Secures 4th Rank In UPSC

 Smriti Mishra, a resident of Sector-41 Block E in Noida, achieved a remarkable feat by securing the fourth rank in the UPSC 2022 examination in the country. It was her dream to become an IAS officer, and after clearing the exam on her third attempt, she realized her long-cherished aspiration. To accomplish this, Smriti made several sacrifices, eliminating all distractions that stood between her and UPSC.

Smriti's academic journey began at St. Clair's School in Agra, where she completed her 10th and high school education. She excelled in her studies and achieved an impressive 96.7 percent in 12th grade, earning recognition in the Agra district. Although originally from Bagbari Gaddi in Prayagraj, Smriti currently resides in Noida with her mother, Anita Mishra, and her brother, Lokesh Mishra. Her father, Raj Kumar Mishra, served as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Bareilly.

In 2019, Smriti completed her Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Life Science from Miranda House College, University of Delhi, where she secured the second rank in her university. She then pursued her LLB at Delhi University. During her graduation, she started appearing for the UPSC exam, determined to achieve her childhood dream of becoming an IAS officer. After three attempts, she finally emerged victorious.

To fully dedicate herself to UPSC preparations, Smriti distanced herself from social engagements and restricted the use of her mobile phone and laptop to online studies. She refrained from participating in social events, travelling, and even festivals, all in pursuit of her dream. Smriti diligently studied books by various publishers and relied on NCERT books to strengthen her knowledge in different subjects. She also made it a habit to read newspapers regularly to enhance her general knowledge. In her pursuit of becoming an IAS officer, she prioritized crucial issues such as women's empowerment and effective waste management.

Expressing her aspirations for women's progress, Smriti emphasised that it had always been her childhood dream to enter the field of civil services. She drew inspiration from witnessing her father's dedicated work, which gave her immense satisfaction. Smriti advised fellow candidates who were struggling with the examination to maintain a continuous study routine, disregarding the number of hours spent. She emphasized the importance of creating a well-structured timetable and adhering to it while setting clear priorities.

  • 1 ml of honey

- With honey, this old-school face mask will do wonders. Mix everything to make a paste. Use once or twice a week. It quickly makes the skin brighter and helps get rid of tan. Honey makes your skin soft and smooth, and chickpea flour makes it lighter and smoother.

For average skin type:

  • 1 tbsp Orange peel powder
  • A dash of turmeric
  • 1 tsp kaolin clay or multani mitti
  • Milk as needed

- Mix the above ingredients into a paste and use it once a week. Using the Multani mitti in an orange peel pack can help you avoid breakouts and get rid of blackheads and whiteheads.

Orange peel powder and aloe vera

In a bowl and add 2 tbsp of newly extracted aloe vera, 2 tbsp of orange peel powder you made yourself, and a few drops of lemon juice. Mix it all together to make a paste. Put on the paste and wait 15 minutes. Run normal or cold water over your face and pat it dry. Your face is ready with a glow and less redness after you wake up.

Orange peel powder and sandalwood

Put 1 teaspoon of orange pulp and sandalwood in a bowl. Then, add a few drops of rose water and some lemon juice to make a paste. Apply the paste and wait 10 minutes for it to dry. Run normal or cold water over your face and pat it dry. Without too much oil, your face is ready to glow right away.

Orange peel powder and yogurt

Put 2 tablespoons of orange peel powder you made at home, 1 tablespoon of honey, and 1 tablespoon of yogurt in a bowl. Make a thick paste by mixing all the ingredients. Apply the paste and wait 10–12 minutes for it to dry. Run normal or cold water over your face and pat it dry. Your beautiful face is ready to shine.

Orange peel powder and gram flour

Put 1 tablespoon of gram flour and 1/2 tablespoon of orange peel powder into a bowl. Add a few drops of lemon juice and rose water to make a thick paste. Put on the paste and wait 10 minutes. Run normal or cold water over your face and pat it dry. Your anti-tan cream and skin that glows are ready.

Orange peel powder and sugar

Get a bowl and put 1 tablespoon of orange peel powder you made at home and 1/2 tablespoon of sugar in it. Add a few drops of lemon juice and rose water to make a very thick paste. Apply the scrub and slowly rub it into your skin for 5–7 minutes. Run normal or cold water over your face and pat it dry. Your skin is ready to shine.

Noida: Suhas LY Wins Silver in Para-Badminton Championship

 Suhas Lalinakere Yathiraj (Suhas LY) IAS, a renowned sports personality and former Sports Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, continues to add new chapters of success to his remarkable journey. Once again, Suhas has achieved a significant accomplishment by winning the silver medal in the Bahrain Open Para-Badminton Championships (2023). Throughout his career, Suhas LY has consistently brought pride to India by securing medals in various Para-Badminton events, including the Olympics. At the championship held in Manama, Bahrain, Suhas displayed exceptional performance, triumphing over players from South Korea, Brazil, China, Germany, and Indonesia to reach the finals.

Ishita Kishore from Greater Noida tops IAS exam

 The Union Public Service Commission recently announced the results of the prestigious Indian Administrative Service (IAS) examination. Ishita Kishore, a resident of Jalvayu Vihar in Greater Noida, secured the top rank across the country, making her the first-ranked candidate. The commission recommended a total of 933 candidates for appointment in the Civil Services Examination 2022. Ishita Kishore, bearing Roll No. 5809986, holds the first position in the selected candidates' list.

Ishita pursued her undergraduate studies in Economics at Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University. During her graduation, she opted for Political Science and International Relations as her optional subjects. Following her academic pursuits, Ishita worked as a financial advisor in a multinational company. However, her ambition to join the Indian Administrative Service propelled her towards the Civil Services Examination, leading her to prepare for the UPSC exams. This achievement marks her success in the third attempt at the Civil Services Examination, having previously been unable to qualify for the prelims in her first two attempts.

I always knew that I wanted to pursue a career, but I had to determine the type of job I wanted to undertake. After careful consideration, I chose civil services because it provides me with the opportunity to contribute to the country. Another Chain Snatching Incident Reported In Ghaziabad

 


Another chain snatching incident was reported in Ghaziabad on Thursday as the thieves snatched a gold chain worth Rs 80,000.

At around 6:30 AM, two thieves snatched a gold chain from a woman near the main road at Paramount Market, Crossings Republik. The woman registered a complaint on 112, prompting the police to reach the incident spot and start investigating. The police investigated the CCTV footage at the incident point.

Alkesh Kumar, a resident of Prateek Royal Cliff, informed Cityspidey that his wife went to morning work at around 6:30 when the thieves came and snatched her chain and ran off. The whole incident was captured on the CCTV installed there. He added, “We called 112 and requested them to find the gold chain worth approximately 80,000 rupees. The police called us  at around 9 AM. to check the CCTV footage.”

Ram Pratap Raghav, in charge of Crossing Republic Chowki in Ghaziabad, informed us that they have watched the CCTV footage and will register an FIR to proceed further with the investigation.

Yoga may do wonder to treat thyroid for the long run effect

 The thyroid gland is a small organ which is located in the front portion of our neck and it is a very important gland as it produces hormones that help control many vital functions of our body. Thyroid gland plays the key role in releasing and controlling thyroid hormones that control metabolism of human body. Metabolism is a process that helps to gain energy. Here are the four different types of yoga asanas you can do to keep your problems at bay.

Camel pose

One need to knee down and bend back for this yoga pose by keeping their feet together. Lean back by pushing your hip forward. Now bend your head and the spine as backward and farther as possible without straining. Then keep your hands on your feet, relax your body and the muscles of your back, hold onto the position for a few seconds before releasing.

This pose would not only strengthen your respiratory system but will also help you to improve digestion by eliminating and expanding the abdominal portion of the body. It stimulates the thyroid gland and reduces fat on the thighs.

Corpse pose

Lie on your back with straight and relaxed limbs. Now close your eyes and keep your feet at a comfortable distance apart. Now resting your palms facing upstart focusing on your breathing inhale and exhale calmly. Repeat the breathing activity for few times.

This position is also known as Shavasana which help to relax the body and release all the anxiety from the body. It works perfectly for both, hypo and hyperthyroidism. This helps to take a power nap for hyperthyroidism patients who find it difficult to sleep at night as it relieves stress, repairs cells, relaxes the body and is also helpful in self-healing without pills for pregnant women.

Cobra pose

It is also known as bhajan assan. For this, you need to lie down flat on your stomach. keep your palms by the side of your chest and arms close to your body by keeping elbows pointing outward. Next carefully Inhale and raise your forehead, neck and shoulders. Raise your trunk using the strength of your arms and look up while breathing. Make sure that your stomach is pressed on the floor. Hold the pose for 5 seconds. Slowly lie back flat on your stomach. Turn your head to one side and rest your arms by the side of your body. Repeat the assan twice.

This pose will strengthen your spine, back muscles, butt, chest, shoulder, lungs, neck while improving blood circulation in the body. Since it increases the throat and neck area, it is a useful asana for hypothyroidism by increasing thyroid functioning.

Lie down on your back with legs straight on the floor and keep your hands beside the thighs. Now place your palms near the shoulders and your fingers pointing towards them. Inhale, press your palms on the floor, lift your shoulders and head up and drop the top of the head on the floor. Then carefully turn your back into an arch while keeping your hands up in namaskar mudra. Lift both of your legs at 45 degrees angle. Hold the posture for some seconds and release. Repeat twice for good results.

This exercise has tons of benefits from stretching the chest, abs, hip flexors and neck. It also helps to stimulate two important areas of the body that is the throat chakra which relates to communication and self-expression and second is the crown chakra, on the top of your head. Experts suggest not to do above mentioned exercise if you suffer from back or neck injuries.

Over the past few days, residents of Sector 117 have been grappling with frequent power cuts, prompting them to lodge complaints with the local authority. In response, SDO Rammurat Verma, accompanied by the concerned engineer and his team, attended a meeting convened by the RWA-117. During the meeting, RWA President Kosinder Yadav urged the officials to find a solution to the power cut issue.

SDO Rammurat Verma provided assurance to the RWA that the matter would be promptly addressed by the concerned department officials within the next one or two days.

Kosinder Yadav, the RWA president of Sector 117, informed us that residents have been experiencing power cuts in recent days, which has particularly impacted senior citizens. To resolve this pressing issue, the RWA requested the presence of SDO Rammurat Verma to assess the situation. Following the meeting, the SDO assured the RWA that the matter would be resolved within a short period of one or two days. Additionally, plans were made to install a new transformer to handle the increasing load of the sector.

NMRC To Launch Mobile App For Passenger Convenience Soon

 


The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has announced the development of a mobile app that will enable passengers to book and pay for various modes of transportation. To ensure the app meets the needs of commuters, the corporation plans to gather feedback from cycle and battery rickshaw drivers, as well as Metro passengers. In order to collect this feedback, NMRC will conduct a questionnaire from May 25 at 12 noon until June 24 at 11:59 pm.

The NMRC is committed to providing improved facilities to its commuters and currently serves around 50,000 passengers daily. The questionnaire will seek information on travel requirements, challenges, and priorities from both commuters and transport service providers. The authorities have encouraged all commuters and transport service providers to participate in the questionnaire. Additionally, every 100 individuals who complete the questionnaire will receive a reward. The questionnaire will be available on NMRC's website.

Based on the suggestions received through the questionnaire, a committee will develop the mobile app. Copies of the questionnaire will also be available at Knowledge Park 2, Pari Chowk, and Noida Sector 51 metro stations in Greater Noida. NMRC has released two QR codes, one for passengers and the other for transport service providers. Scanning the codes with a phone will reveal all the questions.

NMRC officials highlight that the corporation has recently been designated as the nodal authority for mobility services in the Noida and Greater Noida region. With this responsibility, NMRC aims to make travel experiences convenient, safe, time-efficient, and cost-effective. By gathering information on people's priorities and daily challenges, NMRC plans to enhance the digital platform and align it with formal methods, ultimately improving the usage of public transportation.

Water Crisis Disturbs Residents Of Noida Sector 19

Residents of Sector 19 have been facing severe problems with the drinking water supply for quite some time. Presently, the water supply in sector 19 is encountering a severe issue of low pressure, which neither reaches the first floor nor the overhead tanks of sectors. The supply time has been shortened by more than 50 percent.

According to RC Gupta, the president of RWA in sector 19, the area has been experiencing a water crisis for the past few days. Despite repeated complaints to the authorities and senior officers, nothing has happened. He said, “Water is an essential requirement in summer. Residents of the sector are highly agitated over the issue. They requested  Ritu Maheshwari, CEO of the Noida Authority, to look into the matter personally and arrange to restore the normal supply immediately.”

Sanjay Prashar, project engineer (jal) at the Noida Authority, said, “There is no issue with supplied water; however, because of the power cuts, the water supply gets a bit low. But, we will look into the matter and try to resolve it.”
