As part of 'Save Environment' campaign, residents of Panchsheel Greens, a high-rise in Greater Noida, on Monday participated in a plantation drive, commenced from 6:30 am.
People of all age groups residing in the society came forward and planted saplings to keep the environment clean and green.
The initiative was supported by the Greater Noida Authority besides Panchsheel maintenance team and Navratra Sevak Dal.
Residents of various societies located near Ashirwad Chowk are facing water crisis these days. People have complained that the supply is very poor for the past one week, making things difficult for them to meet daily requirements.
General secretary of the RWA of SFS flats, Pocket 1 (Sector 5), Mahesh Gupta said his society was the worst affected due to the shortage. He added, “The Delhi Jal Board supplies water through a command tank. The water first gets supplied to Harmony Apartment (Sector 4), then Surbhi Apartments (Sector 11), Dwarkadeesh Apartment (Sector 12) and so on. Being the last society to get the supply, we are the worst affected of all.”

Formal general secretary of the RWA (Dwarkadeesh Apartment) Anjana Sinha said, “The supply is less since last one week. It is 30-40 per cent lesser than the regular supply.”
Ashirwad, Upkari Apartment, and others are too facing difficulties due to water scarcity.

Amidst the blistering heat in the city, the residents of many high rises had to spend the night without power at Greater Noida West. Around 9 pm, residents of different societies started sharing concerns about power cuts and struggles to withstand the severe weather on social media groups.
As per the residents, in many societies power was resumed after 3-4 hours, however, in many others, it took more than four hours. According to Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL), power supply was interrupted due to feeder break.
The societies which faced power cuts were – Panchsheel Greens, Panchsheel Greens 2, APV Reality, Geotech Homes, Artha Infotech, Fusion Buildtech, Galaxy Dream Homes, La Residentia and many more.
Sandeep Kumar, a resident of Exotica Dream Vally said, “It was difficult to survive in extreme weather conditions. On Monday, power went off around 9 pm and it resumed only around 2 am. As well, there was complete power failure in few societies on Sunday.”
According to the residents, the situation became worse because of overload on DG sets. Residents alleged that DG sets installed for power backup in most of the societies failed to give power backup.
“Power consumption increased manifold and backup system failed. The reason is that in most of the societies power load is high whereas load distribution is low,” said Vikas Kumar, a resident of Panchsheel Greens.
A dead body of an unknown woman was found to be abandoned between the gap of the two towers of Amrapali Silicon society at Sector 76 in Noida on Tuesday.
Police has reached the spot and started rescue operations. Police along with fire department officials were busy in rescuing the body.
According to Sandeep Aggarwal, a resident of the society, body was stuck between two towers C and D at 13th floor of the society.
When aksed, whether it was may resident of the society, Aggarwal said, “It is yet to be asertained by the police. But it seems that she is not from the society.”

Police told that residents came to know about the dead body only after the stink started coming out from it.
Residents said that the woman does not belong to the society. They also confirmed that there was no information about someone going missing from the society. visitor management system
Meanwhile, police have started investigation in the matter.
“Once the body is rescued, we will proceed further. It is lying at a good height and hence rescue operation is taking time,” said a police official.
Recently, an e-rickshaw got tumbled on a stretch near Bharat Vandana Apartment (Sector 19). Similar kind of mishap took place a couple of months ago in which an auto lost its balance and turned turtle. In both incidents, people survived with minor injuries.
Well, the cause of both the mishaps was common- a speed breaker which was non-visible!
Sunil Sareen, a resident of Vandana Apartment and vice president of Dwarka Forum, wrote about this issue to the department concerned but no action has been taken yet in this regard.
Such 'invisible' speed breakers are there across the area, especially on master plan roads like 201, 202, 205, 256. Besides, there is no mark to locate the position and height of these speed breakers.
Talking on this subject, resident of Sector 12 Seema Anand told City Spidey, “These speed breakers are made up of bitumen and concrete, completely black in colour same as the surface of the road. Once I fell down from my scooter while approaching Ashirwad Chowk, without realising that there was a big speed breaker in front of Surbhi Apartment and on the main road of the market in Sector 11. “Also, the zebra crossings near Ashirwad Chowk have almost disappeared after getting faded. This makes things difficult for commuters who are left with no option than stopping their vehicles for pedestrians by guessing as they are unable to locate it in the first place,” Anand added.
People, who follow traffic rules, are of the view that speed breakers and zebra crossings must be marked properly in order to make roads safer for pedestrians and commuters.
Sharing his views on this matter, resident of Sector 10 Naveen Agrawal said, “We want to obey traffic rules. Who would not like to but if the department concerned is not working according to its capacity, then whose fault is it?” visitor management system
He further added, “Rules are there but it should be implemented in such a manner that it compel the general public to think twice before breaking it.”
It is a serious concern because, on one hand, the Delhi Traffic Police and local administration is busy promoting safe pedestrian and safe drive in the city but on the other, the infra required for it is deteriorating day by day.
As local agency has already enforced Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016, throughout the city, residents of several high rises in Noida initiated steps to comply with it. They tied up with house keeping private agency to adhere to the rules and simultaneously cooperate for a green and clean city.
Residents of Homes-121, a residential society in Sector 121, imparted training to the houses keeping staffs and residents as well for source segregation. They are working consistently to ensure that the rules are being followed.
Dinesh Singh, President of Apartment Owners Association of Homes-121, told that all house keeping staffs were trained for collecting dry and wet waste segregated. As well, the residents were also educated for source segregation. They have been keeping two bins at their homes and dry and wet waste are being kept segregated. apartment management system
The society is equipped with wet waste disposal machine where the waste collected from each house will be disposed. It is a huge society which has near about 1,700 houses. Residents are being educated for cooperation with these staffs for waste segregation.

The Authority has also started collection of wet and dry waste segregated at around 20 sectors in the city. But high rises are doing it at their own because they could not be given similar services as is being offered to residents of bungalows in residential sectors.
Residents of Silver city, another high rise residential society in Sector 93, and other societies in Sector 99 have also begun the similar steps on their own. They have been segregating dry and wet waste in compliance to the rules.
The District Magistrate of Ghaziabad, Ritu Maheshwari has ordered closure of all private and government schools in view of the prevailing heatwave in the state.
Thus, the summer vacation has been extended by two more days from July 1 to July 2 for the students. Schools will now reopen on July 3.
However, the directive applies only to classes from Nursery to 8th and will not be applicable on government's School Chalo Abhiyan.
To increase the security of passengers commuting in the Delhi Metro, an estimate of 5,000 additional CISF personnel will be deployed.
A senior official with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) talking to City Spidey also confirmed that the proposal to enhance security has been given nod from the Centre.
DMRC claimed that with the addition of this approved personnel, Delhi Metro's security cover, beefed up by CISF, will be most effective in comparison to any other metro across the country.
As per DMRC's data, at present, nearly 9,000 CISF personnel are deployed to ensure security at 270 stations, including Noida and Ghaziabad.
The Centre had given in-principle approval last year. However, final approval has come recently.
"With the addition of approved strength of security personnel, Delhi Metro will become the third largest security at transport systems following Delhi and Mumbai airports," DMRC official said.
With an overwhelming response by the voters, GC Grand, a high-rise in Indirapuram, held its annual elections of Apartments Owner's Association on Sunday. It was conducted on four positions recorded 56 per cent voting. "In total, 148 residents exercised their rights out of total 262 registered voters," informed Amrish Garg, the new president of the AOA.
"While the number may not appear to be huge as 60-70 voters live outside the country. So taking this into account, this is a good turnout," he reasoned.
The elections were conducted in an Annual General Meeting held on the same day. In the meet, four members were made to retire and vacate positions for the contest. The nominations were filed then and the voting took place. In total, five nominations were filed for four posts.
After the four members were elected to the board, the positions were distributed among the board of members. Out of these four members, three are fresh faces.
Noida police on Monday registered an FIR against a President of Residents Welfare Association (RWA) for setting a shop on fire recently in Sector 31. The act of setting the shop on fire was captured in the CCTV cameras installed in and out of the market.
According to Abhimanyu, owner of the shop, RWA President Sunil Shethi had set his shop on fire during the morning of June 29. The shop is in Royal Plaza market, Sector 31, behind which, Shethi reside at his home.
The complainant told the police that before setting his shop on fire, the accused had came to the shop to check whether the installed CCTV camera was operational or not.
He enquired from one of on-duty staffs whether the cameras are functional? The staff replied that they are not working. He went back to his home after getting the answer. apartment management system
But the CCTV cameras were functional and the entire act was captured in the cameras.
Abhimanyu, who hails from the state of Odisha and has been doing business in Noida, told the police that big losses could have been incurred if a man from the Muslim community had not doused the fire in time.
On receiving complaint, the Sector 20 police station of Noida registered an FIR against Sunil Shethi under section 436 of IPC for setting the shop on fire. The accused is also facing charges under section 427 of IPC for causing damage to the stocks of the shop.
The police told that case has been registered and they are now investing the matter.
During the protest against flawed maintenance services, residents of Green Arch society, a residential high rise in Greater Noida West, locked horns against the management of the society. Many eyewitnesses said that the discussion between both the parties turned into heated exchange of words.
It all began when the agitated residents stopped the ongoing construction works at two towers of the society. After this, they headed towards the sales office of the developer. As per the residents, they were quite annoyed with the callous approach of the maintenance department.
“Maintenance department was not working properly and we have been pointing it regularly. We just inquired as to why maintenance department has stopped services in the society which is giving tough time to the residents. The discussion suddenly turned into heated argument and police were called. Luckily, situation was brought under control by the police with some instructions to the both sides,” said Naval Singh, one of the resident in the society.
A police official said, “A call was received from an unknown resident in this regard and police reached the spot and controlled the situation. Both sides have been instructed not to make the situation go worse and resolve their issues amicably.”
During the protest, residents alleged that maintenance and security system in the society becoming bad to worse and the top management is not taking any action. “We tried to meet the builder (Ajay Singh) several times because he is the final authority and we wanted to communicated him directly on our issues. However, he did not turn up to meet us,” Singh said.
Residents had also protested over the same issues last week and had demanded that security management should be replaced with new one. They alleged that the present team of security guards are not trained and they find tough to handle the situation. They had some others issues related to housekeeping, club services, long-hours of power cuts and others.
The management of the society, however, claimed that residents' complaints have been taken seriously and some of them have resolved.
Arun Sharma, (Estate Manager) in the society told City Spidey said, “Residents had problem with housekeeping department which we have replaced. We accept that security is a genuine issue and we are in process to hire new security agency.”
“At present 18-20 security guards are deployed to ensure the security system in the society and they cannot be suddenly asked to stop their duties. We are hopeful that by first week of August, we would be able to replace security agency with new one,” he added.
Replying on residents’ demand to meet the developer, Sharma said, “He is busy with family as his mother is serious nowadays. But, he discussed every issues with management team. A deadline for every work, which residents have been demanding, has been set and they were also informed about it.”
The Delhi-Gurugram Expressway, which is considered as the 'lifeline' of the area, is awaiting major repair work. Currently, the Millenium City Expressway Private Limited (MCEPL) is responsible for its maintenance but due to the company's negligence, the work is in a pending state for more than one and a half years.
According to a report published in Jagran.com, Rs 18 lakh is being imposed as fine on the firm every day from January 23, 2018, for not carrying out work. Interestingly, the amount of penalty has reached approximately Rs 90 crore till date whereas a total of Rs 180 crore has been allotted as repairing cost.
As per norms, there is a provision of charging 0.1 per cent of the total cost to be spent on the repairing work as 'fine'.
The state of the expressway is going to get worse as monsoon is expected to reach Delhi-NCR in the first week of July. Potholes will surface at various spots which will make things difficult for the commuters using the stretch.
MCEPL was expected to begin repairing work from January 23, 2018, but it is yet to submit its plan to the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).
According to sources, chairman of the NHAI too recently reviewed the issue. During his visit, the officials of the MCEPL assured that by June 14, they will prepare and submit the plan to NHAI but no progress has been witnessed in this regard. In such a scenario, the Centre and the highway authority will face the wrath by the general public.
A reminder will be issued to the company concerned next week to begin the repair work.
After spotting of a snake at the door of a house, the residents are concerned about their safety at Sector 108 in Noida. The snake had reached the door of the house number B-9 on Monday morning.
Following which, the residents complained that there are around 300 vacant houses in the sector which were partly built after allotment of plots by the Noida Authority.
But these houses are vacant as their owners had never come to reside there. As a result, weeds have come up inside these houses and they become prone to habitation of reptile animals.
Ranvir Sharma, a resident of Sector 108, told that the Authority had allotted 850 plots in total to individuals for constructing homes on the plots. “Out of total plots, only 60 per cent of individuals had built homes and they have been residing there. The remaining are partly built and noone resides there,” he said.
He pointed out that they had built houses only to get completion certificate. He said, “As per the rules, if houses were not built within a span of two years, the allotment would have been cancelled. In this case, the Authority invites fresh application of re-allotment. It is not certain that the previous allottee will get the plot again as the allotment is carried out on lottery.”
Sharma said that these house have become habitation of reptile animals. These animals are being seen frequently, which is not safe for families, who have been residing in the sector.
He said that he had given a list of these vacant houses to concerned officer from work circle 8 requesting them to take correcting steps for solving the problem. But they have also not been doing much to solve this problem. Due to this, families are living in fear of the reptile animals.
