Residents of Supertech Ecovillage-1 in Greater Noida West have been staging a sit-in protest at the society's gate for the past 30 days to voice their grievances. Despite having numerous demands, the residents feel that their concerns are being ignored.
In a surprising turn of events, the police issued notices under Section 111 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) against several residents, further fueling their anger and frustration. The individuals who received the notices include Sumit Gupta, Vijay Chauhan, Ranjana Bharadwaj, Abhishek Pratap Singh, Vivek Gupta, Vikram Singh Rana, and BS Tripathi.

One of the significant issues raised by the residents pertains to parking. While the builder has provided flats, adequate parking spaces have not been allocated. As a result, the builder is now demanding approximately 7 lakh rupees for parking, which has become a significant concern for the residents. Another pressing issue within society is the malfunctioning sewage treatment plant, which leads to the direct flow of dirty water into the sewerage system, causing health hazards. Waterlogging problems in the basement and other areas have also been reported.
Moreover, the community is facing an increasing stray dog menace. The builder is also charging 25,000 rupees plus VAT for electricity supply, a practice that the residents consider unfair. Additionally, the society lacks a multi-point connection, several towers remain incomplete, and elevators are non-functional.
Ranjana Suri Bharadwaj, a resident of Ecovillage-1, expressed disappointment over the authorities taking action against the residents instead of addressing their demands. She deemed it highly unjust that the residents, who have been fighting for their rights, are being targeted in this manner.
Sameer Bhardwaj, another resident, criticized the actions of the authorities and highlighted the exploitation faced by farmers and villagers at the hands of the builder. He questioned the district's decision to harass the residents with notices instead of holding the builder accountable, expressing deep shame over the situation.
Vivek Gupta, a resident of Ecovillage-1, expressed his dismay and described the current situation in Noida city as a scenario where fighting for rights and demands has become a sin. He emphasized that the residents are peacefully advocating for their rightful facilities, as the builder has failed to provide basic amenities. The exorbitant demand of 7 lakhs rupees for parking is particularly disheartening for the residents.
