Noida Goes Strict On Segregating Waste, To Impose Rs 500 Fine On Defaulters

 

Noida Authority CEO Ritu Maheshwari held a review meeting of the Public Health Department on Wednesday wherein she instructed the officers to install blue and green dustbins in various marketplaces of the city. Instructions were given to the officer to coordinate with RWAs to give segregated waste to door-to-door waste collection agencies.

The authority decided to impose a fine of Rs 500 on the resident who fails to segregate wet and dry waste. Furthermore, the garbage collection agency will also be subject to a penalty. A team will administer this penalty following a surprise inspection. They aim to improve the disposal system to 100% of garbage in the city.

The Noida Authority sought to gain a 7-star rating in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. To achieve a 7-star rating, the authority will run a campaign for the next ten days. In this campaign, cleaning of vacant plots in sectors, emphasis on garbage disposal, pruning of bushes, and other works will be carried out. Officer on Special Duty Indu Prakash Singh and Officer on Special Duty Avinash Tripathi, along with other officers of the Noida authority, were present at the meeting.
