In a significant development, the Greater Noida Development Authority has taken strict action against five builders involved in unauthorised construction activities in Shahberi village. Following a tragic incident on the night of July 17, 2018, when an illegal building collapsed, claiming the lives of nine individuals, the authority imposed a ban on all construction works in the area.
An FIR (First Information Report) has been filed against the builders by the assistant manager of the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority. The complaint highlights that these builders have been clandestinely carrying out construction activities without obtaining the necessary permissions. Despite repeated attempts to halt the illegal construction, the builders have continued to defy the authorities, engaging in covert operations during the night.
Inspector-in-charge Anil Kumar Singh of Bisrakh police station confirmed that the assistant manager, posted at the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority, lodged a report with the police. The report asserts that unauthorized construction is taking place on Khasra No. 302 of Shahberi village, an area falling under the jurisdiction of the Greater Noida Authority. The construction activities are in violation of the ban imposed by the Supreme Court on all construction work in the area.
