The District Development Resident Welfare Association (DDRWA) has written a letter to the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, urging him to take immediate action against the gangs involved in child begging in GautamBuddha Nagar.
In their letter, DDRWA appeals to the Chief Minister to ensure the safety and well-being of innocent children who are being exploited by these begging gangs at various intersections in the district. They specifically request the Chief Minister to arrange for the relocation of these children to rehabilitation centres and to assign the station head of the area to oversee the prevention of child begging on the roads.
DDRWA further emphasizes that it is the responsibility of each Station House Officer (SHO) in Uttar Pradesh to prevent any form of violence against small children within their jurisdiction. Additionally, they stress the importance of providing these children with access to education, as it is crucial for their future development. DDRWA urges the government to enforce stringent measures against the gangs involved in exploiting and handicapping these innocent children.

While acknowledging that child begging is prevalent not only in GautamBuddha Nagar but throughout the entire district of Uttar Pradesh, DDRWA calls for the enactment of laws that will help eradicate child poverty and prevent such exploitation from occurring. They believe that by eliminating the gangs that force children into begging, a brighter future can be ensured for these vulnerable children.
Sanjeev Kumar, Senior Vice President of DDRWA, stated that their primary objective in writing the letter to Honorable Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is to put an end to child begging on the streets of GautamBuddha Nagar and provide these children with access to education. Kumar emphasizes the need for the Chief Minister to take action against the gangs responsible for exploiting these children and suggests assigning the responsibility to the police to address this pressing issue.
