MCD and community of Dwarka on mission to make area free from plastic!

 Municipal Corporation of Delhi, Najafgarh Zone has joined hands with the community people to make Dwarka free from plastic. At an event organised at Sector 22 and 23 market on Thursday, MCD announced the concept as apart of its mission to make area free from plastic. It was a part of the flagship program earlier announced by Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, VK Saxena to make Delhi free from plastic.


On 22 January, LG VK Saxena had launched a 100-day drive aimed to make areas under the municipal corporation free of plastic. The ‘100 Days to Beat Plastic’ campaign led by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will end on April 22 on International Earth Day.

The program was organised by MCD in association with various RWAs, NGOs and market associations and All Dwarka Resident Federation (ADRF). On the occasion Assistant Commissioner Najafgarh Zone, Kadam Singh and the area Councillor Kamaljeet Sehrawat were present. Sehrawat was the chief guest on the occasion. 


AC Kadam Singh addressed the gathering and emphasised the concept of plastic free Dwarka and the campaign announced by Lieutenant Governor. He said that the entire city would be made plastic free with the involvement of RWAs, market associations and NGOs. Kumar focussed on the participation of community and it’s support for the  cause to remove plastic from daily life. 
Councillor of the area, Kamaljeet Sehrawat in her address appealed people to come forward and join hands with MCD in the mission. She assured of all the possible help from the side of MCD. “Why not we should make efforts to make Dwarka an example like Indore and other such cities. Lets make collective effort for that and show Delhi that we can do that,” she added.
