Incidents of people getting stuck in elevators in high-rise societies are on rise in Greater Noida. On Wednesday 12 April evening, a family of eight people got stuck in the elevator of Golf Gardenia Society in Alpha One, Greater Noida for hours. As gathered.
The incident took place around 9.30 pm. The family kept screaming for help but help didn't arrive. After several hours, the fire department officials reached the spot late at night and all eight people were rescued.
Inderpal Singh, an official of the fire department, said, "It was reported that a family was trapped in the lift. Based on this information, the fire department team reached Golf Gardenia Society, Sector Alpha One, Police Station Beta 2 area. After some time all were rescued. There was a technical fault in the lift.”
The victims were Ravinderpal (66), his wife Kusum (63), Ravindra Pal's son Dushyant Pratap (39), Dushyant's wife Aastha Singh (35), Dushyant's son Saksham Singh (8) and Isha Singh (3). Two other members, Om Vishwas Singh (23) and Aditya Singh (17), were also trapped in the lift.

The residents of the society have been demanding the builder and the authority to fix the elevators and have them regularly checked. Earlier, in many residential complexes of Greater Noida, the lift had suddenly broken down and another family was trapped inside. People are taken out of the lift only after hours.
