As the theatres were shut during the lockdown, OTT platforms picked up as the primary source of entertainment and releasing movies on these platforms seemed a fair choice. Apart from the ease of watching the cinema at your home, you can now even pause, replay or watch any part of the movie at your convenience.
With the advent of OTT platforms, Big Curtain Info Media Pvt Ltd, a film distribution company that has been in the business for the last 15 years, is coming up with their OTT platform – ‘Talkiez’. Its launch program was organised at Hotel Lalit in Delhi. Present at the event were actors Aryan Vikal and Karan Mann, 'Maqbool' and 'Mirzapur' fame actors Shaji Chaudhary, actress Supriti Batra, directors Anil Sharma and Honey Rawat.
The platform aims at providing its audience with high-quality and unique content that can be enjoyed with family. Shakeel Hashmi, Director of ‘Talkiez’ said, “We aim to not only share engaging content with audiences but also reach two-thirds of the cities across the country.”
“The allure of Bollywood will never fade and hence we got blockbuster movies on our platform without any glitch. ‘Talkiez’ plans to keep its subscription rate light on the pockets of the viewers. One can say that we are going to have a big explosion on the platform be it tie-ups, TV promotions, social media promotions, direct selling, our 360-degree promotion strategy will leave no stone unturned. Talkies aim to go live on at least 1.5 million mobile phones by the end of this financial year and aims to serve over 50 million customers in the next five years,” he further said.
Viewers can enjoy the content on ‘Talkies’ for free for the first month and the further cost of subscription has not been disclosed yet. The platform is set with new releases of short films and series along with some classics. ‘Talkies’ is available on Playstore and iOS for download on android and apple devices respectively.
