This 66-yr-old is giving us green goals

 Age has caught up with environment lover PK Dutta, he has a pacemaker installed and also suffers from Parkinson disease. However, the passion of 66-year-old for environment is as fresh and young as a lily. Talking to CitySpidey, he said, "I was fond of nature since childhood and that drove me to become a nature lover."

Well, let us know how much he loves nature. As a nature enthusiast, PK Dutta loves taking photographs of nature and capture them in a unique way. He even tilled his work as, "Images on  Trees" and he has organised photo exhibitions for morning walkers in different parks. He has been doing so to empower environment by connecting people to plants. He received high accolades from different sections of civil society including former President – Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.

PK Dutta has proudly met thousands of people across the city through his photo exhibitions organised at many locations including Delhi University (North Campus), Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management, DeenDayal Upadhyay College, Steel Authority of India Limited, Ghaziabad Development Authority, various social organisations, colleges, schools, housing societies, leading flower shows at Delhi and public  parks in different sectors in Dwarka for morning walkers exclusively.

He started participating in the environmental activities and obtained certification in Green Schools Programme – Teacher Orientation Workshop from Environment Education Unit of Centre for Science & Environment on Green Schools Audit Programme – 2011; Solid Waste Management and Green Schools Audit – July 2015; Water & Sanitation and Green Schools Audit – April, 2016.

He has done value addition at Queens Valley School, Dwarka by establishing a herbal nursery in their premises. He established a terrace garden at Cambridge School, Indirapuram. His other works include interactions with gardening enthusiasts and horticulture department including training. He also arranges doorstep delivery of trees, plants and shrubs to Cooperative Group Housing Societies (CGHSs). He was also involved in increasing greenery at the police stations and crematorium.

Datta, also arranged nature walk for appreciation of mother nature for the students of Cambridge School, Indirapuram in the District Biodiversity Park, Ghaziabad. He got state and national level awards for his hard work.

Being environment lover, his passion and love for trees has also turned him into a vivid writer and his stories publish in local, national print and electronic media since 2009 on nature and  environment. He nearly got 30 articles published in online Neev E-magazine promoted by an Indian couple for Indian community children in Australia on nature and environment as a paid writer.

Talking to CitySpidey, he said, "We have to make up for our unfinished agenda during the pandemic and people are also indifferent about environment. Progressive and continued dialogue is required to make them aware about their commitment to the cause of environment."
