The South Division Magistrate (SDM) on June 1 announced that Dwarka Sector 12 dispensary and Sector 9 central government dispensary are open for a second dose of Covaxin. This vaccination drive is only for the people above 45 years of age.
The drive began on June 2 and its timings are 10 am to 2 pm. A person needs to carry his/her government authorised identification proof. The vaccines will be administered in Sector 12 & 9 dispensaries and are free of cost. It is a walk-in camp.
Pankaj Roy Gupta, SDM Dwarka, said, "People of and above 45 years of age can avail these facilities and take their second dose without any registration."
Cityspidey spoke to a few Dwarka residents who have been struggling to get a slot for the second dose.
Shivani Bhattacharya, a local resident, said, “My husband, my 77-year-old father-in-law and I are were supposed to get the second dose on May 26. While the government says there is no stock of Covaxin, a message was circulated on the housing society group that a walk-in facility would start for the second dose. I'm just hoping that my father-in-law can avail the facility."
Harish Rawat, a Godrej Apartment resident, said, "My 61-year-old wife Pushpa, 33-year-old son Nikhil and I got the first dose of the vaccine in the first week of May. Unlike Covishield, the gap between two doses of four weeks remains unchanged for Covaxin."
"We have been making numerous attempts to book the slot for the second jab. However, the slots after June 1 are not reflecting on any website. Hope after this news I and my wife will get our second dose successfully."
