The DoE has asked private schools in the city to submit details related to admissions before February 15. The first list will be released by March 20 and the admission process will end on March 31.
Shortly after, Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia tweeted, “Nursery admission schedule announced by the Delhi govt.... best wishes for all the parents and kids. (sic)”
“The application process will begin on February 18 and the first list is expected on March 20. The entire process will conclude on March 31,” the DoE said.
The last date to fill the form is March 4. The first and second lists will be released on March 20 and 25 respectively. The classes are expected to start on April 1.
On Monday, the DoE had issued a notification asking all the district education officers to provide information regarding the seats available for both general and reserved categories in all private schools of the national capital.
There are separate entrance processes for general seats and reserved seats. Students from Economically Weaker Sections(EWS)/Disadvantaged Groups (DG) categories can apply under reserved seats.
Nursery admissions will be conducted in 1,700 private schools in the city. Admissions will be done for more than 2,00,000 seats for the entry-level classes.
This time, the admissions were delayed by more than two months due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The admission process normally starts in November or December.
