The minimum temperature was recorded at 7.4 degrees Celsius on Thursday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
The weather department said that the minimum temperature is likely to increase slightly over the next two days due to the influence of a fresh Western Disturbance.
An IMD official said, “The minimum temperature is likely to increase slightly as a fresh Western Disturbance will start affecting the Western Himalayan region from Friday onwards.”
He said that the Western Disturbance will result in widespread snowfall in upper peaks of the Western Himalayas. “Cold and dry winds coming from the mountains will drop the temperature to 4 degrees Celsius by Monday,” he added.
On January 22, dense fog is expected to come back to the national capital. Due to lesser wind speed, people would slightly get relief from cold.
