Dwarka residents raise voice against stray dog menace

We often get to read and hear about incidents related to stray dogs and their menace. Well, Dwarka is no exception!

People across the sub-city are facing this issue which is common in other parts of Delhi-NCR too. People have pointed out that with the start of their breeding season, their numbers, too, tend to increase which results in dog-biting incidents.

They further said that they get to know about such cases through several resident forums or groups but they remain helpless when it comes to looking for a solution.

Talking to City Spidey, resident of Sector 14's Radhika Apartment, one of the worst-affected pockets from dog-bites said, "Comparing it with the previous year, the number has actually increased. House helps and children are the most affected lot." apartment management system

Last year, son of Kesar Singh Saini of the same apartment got badly injured by a stray dog. He got hospitalised and it took one and a half month for him to recover completely.

Recalling it, Singh shared, "The incident took place in the evening when my 11-year-old son was playing in the neighbouring park. He was caught by a stray dog and got badly injured. It was really painful for him and us. The civic body concerned has failed miserably in finding a solution to this issue." visitor management system

Residents of Sector 6 and 9 have also raised their concerns in this connection.

What is more disheartening is the fact that the matter has been highlighted several times by the RWAs, social organisations and also the residents of the area in meetings with the officials of the authority concerned but no action has been taken yet in this regard.

“We have raised it to the Mayor, MLA and MP but their answers and assurances were not on practical grounds. Sterilisation is the only way out as far the officials of the corporation are concerned and nothing else,” said Rashmi Singh a resident of Sector 22.

In Dwarka, there are about 50 DDA pockets and almost all of them are affected due to stray dog menace.
