In order to regulate the sewage disposal in the area, the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has started looking for lands along the Dwarka Expressway, in Sectors 112-115 to construct a sewage treatment plant (STP).
According to a report published in Hindustan Times, GMDA will send a detailed project report (DPR) of the estimated sewage disposed of (treated and untreated) from private societies and villages to the state government for approval.

GMDA will write to the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG), seeking land allotment in the above-mentioned sectors for the construction of an STP to formalise sewage system in Sectors 81- 115. The construction of an STP on the Northern Peripheral Road (Dwarka Expressway) is expected to be over by March 2020.

There are 35 newly-developed sectors (81-115) along the NPR, having nearly 175 residential housing societies and around 15 villages and many unauthorised colonies, sewage disposal of which is not connected with the GMDA’s master sewer lines, in the absence of STPs in the area.
Responding to Hindustan Times, GMDA's superintending engineer Rajesh Bansal said that the sewage disposal is a big challenge for the development authority and the STP systems are required to be laid down to check illegal disposal by people in the drains and elsewhere.
As soon as the land is acquired, the task of constructing the sewage plant will be allotted to a contractor. The work is expected to be over early 2020.
