Noida: Many illegal shops demolished during anti-encroachment drive at Sec 74

The enforcement cell of Noida Authority on Monday conducted an anti-encroachment drive to clear illegal occupancy rampant in Sector 74. The drive ran for over two hours on the spot. Many bulldozers were deployed to eradicate illegal shops which were on the roadside.

Most of the demolished shops were next to compound of a high rise residential society, Civitech Sampriti. More than seven temporary shops were brought down to clear the illegal occupancy alongside roads. The demolished occupants included eateries, tea stalls, meat shops, car services and home decor items store.

Vendors were warned by officials that they would face similar action and stalls will be seized if they put their shops again on roadsides. An on-duty officer from the enforcement cell informed that the temporary illegal occupancy has now been cleared.

He said that similar action is being planned for other sectors in the area where the roadsides have illegally been occupied. He added that all the temporary shop owners have been warned against setting up similar shops in future.

Residents, living in the vicinity, are happy with the action taken against this illegal occupancy. They said that the authority acted on their complaints finally and cleared the illegal occupancy.

“It was causing law and order issues for them as anti social elements used to hang out at these shops. This problems, it seems, is solved as of now. But officials should visit the sector frequently ensuring that they don't return again,” they said.
