Noida: Agile police response led to recovery of bag left in Uber cab

A woman had heart in her mouth when she left her bag containing jewelleries worth Rs 15 lakh in a Uber cab. However, she raised an alarm immediately and Noida police acted promptly to recover her bag in quick succession. 

Noida police was very fast to act on the matter as it tracked down the Uber cab and ensured the recovery of the bag.

According to police, a resident of Noida, Abhinav Kumar, who is a friend of the victim Rumela Sen, infomed the control room about the incident at 9.30 am on Sunday.

He said that his friend had taken a Uber cab from her home to  Noida sector 50 metro station. Soon after reaching the destination and paying the fare, Sen noticed that she had left the bag in the cab itself. apartment management system

By the time she realised that her bag was left in the cab, the cab had gone. She then immediately informed one of her friend Abhinav about the incident, following which Abhinav called the police.

“After receiving the information, Ajay Aggarwal (SHO sector 49) reached out to the woman at the metro station to get the further detail about the cab. After receiving details regarding cab’s number and driver, he alerted the traffic control room,” said a senior police official.

Meanwhile, the police also contacted the Uber head office and got the details of driver and whereabouts of the cab. “Within few minutes, the cab was tracked down on the DND flyover. The bag containing the jewellery was then recovered from the cab and handed over to the woman,” confirmed the official.
