An 84-year-old retired Brigadier General of Indian Army was found dead inside his flat in Sector 37 area of Noida on Wednesday morning. As per police, the retired officer was ill from last few months and he lived alone in his flat.
The deceased's name was Sher Singh Rathore and he is survived by three daughters who are based in the US.

He had a caretaker, 22-year-old Ankit, who used assist him in daily activities. When he opened the door of the flat on Wednesday morning, he found Rathore's body lying on thee floor. He also experienced foul smell coming from his room.
“Around 7 am on Wednesday, a pungent smell was emanating from the house and upon opening the door, I found him lying on the floor and immediately informed police” said Ankit.

After getting the information, police team immediately rushed to the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. We are not sure when he had died but the body had started decomposing,” said Sharma.
As of now, the police has ruled out any chances of foul play. “The caretaker told that Rathore was having BP problems. In our earlier investigation, we have not found any injury marks on the body. There is a chance that Rathore had died of a heart attack,” said Sharma.
“The family members, who lives in US, have been informed. The actual reason behind the death can only be ascertained after post-mortem reports” added Sharma.
