Traffic advisories issued in Dwarka, Gurugram for Counting Day

In order to ensure security on counting day on May 23, Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory for the residents of Dwarka.

According to the advisory, Road no. 224 in front of Integrated Institute of Technology (IIT), Sector 9 and the stretch from Sector 8/9 traffic signal to Sector 19/20 traffic signal will be closed from 4 am till the closure of counting.



The officials have advised commuters to avoid the stretch. As for those living in the societies located in these areas, the officials have advised them to carry their identity card or society related documents to gain access and exit from the blocked roads.

RWAs of these societies have been asked to share the advisory on notice boards in the society and residents’ WhatsApp groups.





In a similar advisory issued for Gurugram, traffic movement will be blocked on the 2.5-kilometre stretch between MDI Chowk and Mahavir Chowk between 7 am and 11 pm on Thursday.

In Gurugram district, the counting of votes is being carried out at the Government College for Girls in Sector 14, which is located between MDI Chowk and Mahavir Chowk.

All roads leading to the counting venue will be blocked and the commuters have been advised to avoid the 1.3-kilometre arterial route between the college and 32nd Milestone.

According to the advisory, these routes can be accessed by counting staff, counting agents and candidates, to reach the centre. However, their vehicles shall not be allowed to be parked inside the college. They can park their vehicles at the parking lot of ITI and Vyapar Sadan.
