Gurugram: Residents miffed with MCG due to improper waste collection at Sec 22

The residents are miffed with the way the waste collection problem is being tackled by the Municipal Corporation and the Eco Green company at Sector 22 in Gurugram. The residents have to go through a lot because of the rampant corruption by the private vendor.

There is a colony in Ward Number 4, which is full of waste and dirt. The Eco Green company is making a mockery of the Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan. There is waste and garbage in large quantities at the location.

According to the president of the RWA of Sector 22, Bhim Singh, “There are heaps of waste around colony in Ward Number 4. The area comes under the private waste collector company Eco Green. I think they don’t have time to do private work.”

He further added, “There are at least 10 big warehouses which are owned by private contractors. The warehouses bring the waste of the big companies here. The Eco Green Company uses its waste carrier vehicles to get the waste out of the area and take the waste to the municipal lands.”

Singh continued, “The Eco Green company has been a complete failure till date. The company has been taking crores of rupees as revenues from the Municipal Corporation.  I want to humbly request all the RWAs in Gurugram and also all the alert and aware residents to raise their voices against the company Eco Green.”

He said, “I have complained to the Senior Sanitation Inspector Rishi Malik. But even after that, there hasn’t been any improvement in the current scenario. The private vendors like Eco Green just doesn’t pick up the waste from our society. The waste is now giving out foul odour and there are chances of people falling prey to various diseases.”

He further added, “Our humble request to the SSI is that we require at least 2 vehicles because there are almost 1800 people living in our society and our sector. Please take a serious course of action against the private vendor so that we don’t have to go through such problems in the future.”
