Nigerian arrested for scuffle with fellow national at Greater Noida

The police on Thursday arrested a Nigerian for allegedly fighting with another Nigerian at Alestonia Apartments in Surajpur area, Greater Noida.

Police officials informed that the accused along with his five friends entered the victim’s house and attempted to extort money from him.



“They also threatened the victim to join their group or else face dire consequences,” said police.

As per police, the accused was identified as Onifransis who was also a resident of Alestonia Apartments. Police added that the accused and his five friends were unemployed.

After the incident, the victim complained the matter to the association of Nigerian nationals residing in India. The association soon intervened in the matter and an FIR was lodged.

The victim, Ehis, told that he was also getting calls with threatening that if he doesn’t join their group then he will be killed.

Ehis said, “I have been getting calls from unknown numbers. They have been threatening to kill me if I fail to oblige to what they wanted. I don’t have any relation with them or their group. I demand police safety.”

Meanwhile, police said that the accused was arrested from his flat while his other friends were absconding.

“Victim has accused around six persons in his complaint, following which an FIR under IPC sections 147 (rioting), 386 (extortion), 452 (trespassing) and 507 (criminal intimidation) was lodged. One accused has been arrested by police while efforts are being made to nab those who are absconding” said Munish Chauhan, Station House officer of Surajpur police station.
