Greater Noida woman resident arrested for faking as IFS officer

The police on Thursday arrested a woman, resident of Greater Noida West, for availing VIP facilities by faking herself as Indian Foreign Services (IFS) officer for last two years. The woman was successful in taking a police escort vehicle and government gunner.

As per police, the woman was identified as Zoya Khan who hails from Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh. Her husband, Harsh Pratap Singh, was also arrested. Police was successful in arresting them from their residence at Pristine Avenue Society of Gaur City 2 in Greater Noida West.



Addressing the reporters, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Vaibhav Krishna said that they were under suspicion since the woman approached him for VIP facility. He added that the woman availed VIP services at Ghaziabad, Meerut, Aligarh, Moradabad and Gurugram.

Krishna informed, “The woman met me last month and asked for police escort and other facilities. We started enquiring the matter when we got suspicious. Her real identity came to light when we raided their house.” Greater Noida News

SSP also revealed that the woman was doing this fraud in last two years by posing herself as Joint Secretary with Foreign Ministry. Krishna further said, “It surfaced during investigation that the woman had made a fake ID card of United Nation Security Council (UNSC). She also made a fake e-mail id using proxy server. The woman used to send e-mails from this account to request for VIP services.”

Police was also successful in recovering two vehicles with blue beacons and UN logo, two laptops, a pair of walkie talkies and fake pistol. As per sources, Zoya had done her masters in Politics from Delhi University. Her father is a doctor in Meerut.
