The management authority of Apeejay School, Noida (Sector 16A) has decided to comply with an order issued by the district fee regulatory committee (DFRC) of Gautam Buddh Nagar to withdraw excess fee for which it imposed a hefty fine of Rs 5 lakh on April 20.
“The school management had deposited a cheque of Rs 5 lakh to the department concerned in compliance with the order issued on April 19 for violating similar directive in the past. It has also submitted reports of compliance under which it withdrew the excess fee,” said Praveen Upadhyay, DIOS (GB Nagar) and member of DFRC.
“It is expected that Cambridge School, against which a fine of Rs 1 lakh was imposed, would also comply with the order. It has one more day to adhere to the compliance,” Upadhyay added.
Meanwhile, the school administration wrote a mail to the parents asking them to provide their bank details to refund the excess fee charged from them.
“Ours is a law-abiding educational institution therefore, we have agreed to comply with the orders issued by the DFRC. As the matter is currently sub-judice, kindly stand notified the school reserves the right to make final adjustments upon settlement of this issue either through DFRC or the court. We have immense faith and respect in our judicial system and shall follow their orders and directives, as applicable,” the management authority of the Apeejay School stated.
