Residents of the high rises in Noida were elated as the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) Lok Sabha Election candidate for Gautam Buddh Nagar, Dr Mahesh Sharma, filled the nomination papers at Surajpur Collectorate office in Greater Noida on Friday.
While the residents of the various societies in the city have given him a thumbs up but the people from the rural area are not happy with the party’s decision of giving him the ticket once again.

Bhavishya Kumar, a resident of Prateek Stylome, a high rise society in Noida Extension said that a team from Noida Extension met Sharma over a civic issue and their problem was resolved quickly.
“He assured that he will talk to CM about the issue and at any cost, no dump yard will be built at this location. So after that, the Chief Minister himself told the authority to stop the work and made sure no dump yard is there," he added.
Soumya Singh, another resident of Eros Sampooranam, Noida Extension, recalled how street lights were installed in their area when they had complaint about it.
"We complain about the street light in a meeting with him and he assured us that soon the street light will be installed outside the society. After 15 days, the Greater Noida authority started the work of installation of the street light on the 200metre stretch," she added.
For the last couple of years, the Gautam Buddh Nagar constituency has proven lucky for BJP.
