Noida: Residents of Divine Meadows unhappy with hefty maintenance fee hike

The residents of Divine Meadows are unhappy with the builder over the sudden hike of maintenance charges in Noida. It was alleged that the builder started deducting electricity, maintenance and water charges from the prepaid meter.

As per the residents, they are living in the society for more than two years now and have already made full payment to the builders but the registration of the flats are still due. They said that the builder had also failed to deliver flats at the promised time.

The residents informed that they booked their flats in 2010 and they were given assurance for possession of flats by December 2014. However, they were only successful to get possession in 2015. The project has around 450 flats. Out of that, around 400 flats have been occupied by the residents.

A resident said that the builder increased the maintenance charge by 70 per cent without taking the consent of the residents. At present, they are paying Rs 1.5 per sqft. Now, they are asked to pay Rs 2.5 per sqft.

“The builder has also deducted the maintenance, electricity and water charges from the prepaid meter which is totally illegal,” he said.

“We met the city magistrate on the issue, he referred the case to Noida Authority to resolve the issue between residents and the builder. Noida Authority is going to organise a tri-party meeting on October 11,” Jatin Kumar, another resident said.

Till the time, the clubhouse is not ready and the swimming pool is not operational. The builder did not provide the basic facility.

When City Spidey tried to contact the builder’s officials, they were not available for comments.
