Noida: 60-year-old man dies of swine flu


A 60-year-old man died of swine flu at Metro Hospital, Noida (Sector-12) late Sunday, being the first case of death reported in the city. According to sources, doctors received the report confirming swine flu only a few hours before the death. The health department of the district too confirmed the patient died of H1N1 virus. The deceased was working as supervisor with Noida Authority.

Udayvir Pal, son of the deceased and a resident of Sector-127, said he faced difficulties in claiming the body of his father.

While talking to City Spidey about the case, Chief Medical Officer Anurag Bhargava said, "The deceased was a diabetic patient and suffering from kidney disease. We have now requested all the members of his family to undergo the test for swine flu. Besides, camps are being organised to examine other cases, if any."

A total of 9 cases of swine flu were confirmed in the district in January this year.
