Gzb: River Heights residents carry out protests against builder

More than a dozen disgruntled residents of River Heights, a high rise in Raj Nagar Extension in Ghaziabad, demonstrated their anger against faulty infrastructure and management in the society. The residents living in newly constructed Phase II of the society resorted to protest and sloganeering.

The builder, Landcraft Developers Private Limited, has failed to address their long-pending demand of looking into the twin issues of structural flaws and absence of amenities promised to the residents.

Residents claimed that the basement area remains mostly waterlogged. There are patches of seepage on the walls in the basement.

"They (maintenance wing if the society) blame it on fittings issue," a resident said.

Residents also claimed that builder did not made any provision for green area or park as promised during the booking of the flats.

"We have been cheated on many fronts," said a resident.

The resident also claimed that the towers have not received fire NOC from fire department.

Meanwhile, the most serious issue continues to be constant malfunctioning of the lifts. "Just few days ago, a couple with a kid got trapped for more than 20 minutes in the lift," the resident told City Spidey, on condition of anonymity.

"The reason is the substandard quality of the lifts installed in the buildings, which results in frequent breakdowns," the resident added.

City Spidey tried to contact the maintenance department but calls and messages went unanswered.

Phase II of River Heights started giving possession in 2017. The society has occupancy in over 200 flats. More than 400 flats have been constructed. The builder looks after the maintenance of the society.
