On the occasion of Basant Panchami, more than 200 privileged kids interacted with Dwarka ACP Rajender Singh at Sector 4 park. The programme was organised by Dwarka-based NGO Choti Si Khushi.
Inspired by the ACP, a few children pledged to become police officers in future. During the interactive session, the ACP spoke to the children on how the force works and what they needed to do to become officers of the future. A few of the girls shared their experiences of self-defence training they received last year.
While addressing the gathering, the ACP said, “Together we can make a good system. I am happy that people from Dwarka are taking effort to groom these kids.”
People from surrounding societies also participated in the programme. Cultural events were performed by the children of Choti Si Khushi. Prizes and certificates were given out for academic and extracurricular achievements to the children.
Choti Si Khushi also launched a magazine on the occasion.
Its secretary, Namita Chaudhary, said, “What we are doing is encouraging these children to improve their life conditions through education and extracurricular activities. We want them to become confident citizens someday. This visit by the ACP is meant to serve as a motivation.”
