Noida: Man arrested for blackmailing ex-girlfriend


The Noida police has arrested a man who had allegedly threatened a girl to upload her obscene pictures on the Internet if she married someone else.

According to the police the accused was threatening the girl that he would get her marriage cancelled by sending her photos to her relatives. Her brother had registered a complaint to the police on the matter, after which the accused was arrested.

The accused has been identified as Rajat Srivastava from Delhi while the victim lives with her family in Sector 15, Noida, said the police.

“The victim and accused have known each other for some time now. However, she had ended her friendship with him sometime back. After which, he started troubling her and her family members. Later on, her family members had fixed her marriage to another man,” police said.

Manoj Pant, SHO of Sector 20 police station, said that soon after the marriage was fixed, the accused started sending her objectionable pictures to her father and brother. “He had also threatened the victim’s family that if they decided to go ahead with the marriage, he will kill all of them,” Pant added.
