Maintenance fee issue: Panchsheel Greens residents seek DM's intervention

Angered with the long-pending issue related to the advance payment of maintenance charge, a group of residents from Greater Noida West’s Panchsheel Greens on Friday wrote a letter to Gautam Budh Nagar’s district magistrate and sought his intervention to bring an end to this row.

As City Spidey was informed, the developer, at the time of possession, had charged maintenance fee in advance for a period of two years, but that had already ended in October last year. Besides, the residents are now being forced to pay an advance fee for another two years.

Residents alleged that despite paying the fee in advance, they have received very poor services from the management of the society.  They further added the cost breakup (details of expenses on services) is another serious issue. Residents say they have been demanding details of expenses on different services but the management is yet to respond.

“Many flat owners have been asked to pay maintenance charge one month before they got the possession of the flats. The procedure is wrong and hence we have decided not to pay the maintenance fee until there is transparency in the system,” said a resident of Panchsheel Hynish, another high-rise of Panchsheel Group.

Residents are worried and concerned as they allege the management has threatened to stop all maintenance services if the charges are not paid soon. However, people associated with the management department have refuted their allegations, stating that services are being provided despite residents’ refusal to pay the maintenance fee.

When City Spidey contacted Anuj Chowdhary, director of the Panchsheel Group, and inquired about the issue, he replied, “Many people are working for different services here, but we neither stop their monthly wages nor the services for the residents. Though the problem occurs but not every time! People here have a habit of objecting to the things we introduce.”

"Residents keep questioning about poor services but they don't talk about the services that are being provided despite their refusal to pay maintenance charge since October. They never talk about documentation. We are ready to address their concerns but even they need to understand our problem, only then the issue will be resolved, " Chowdhary added.
