After flagging off Aqua Line Metro, the government is planning to construct a Metro Line from Pari Chowk in Greater Noida to Jewar Airport. For this, a feasibility report will be presented in the upcoming board meeting of Yamuna Authority in February.
According to an official, the route has been deemed fit in the feasibility report. This route will be about 28.6 kilometres long.
“The first flight from Jewar Airport is planned in 2023. Metro connectivity will be required as soon as the airport becomes operational. Therefore, planning for airport’s connectivity from NCR has been started. It is being planned that the commuters will get direct connectivity to their homes,” the official said.
“In the report, the routes from Pari Chowk to the proposed airport at Jewar have been deemed feasible. There will be not be any issue with the land acquisition because this route will start from zero point in Greater Noida and run parallel to the green belt of Yamuna Expressway,” he added.
“The train will travel to the residential area of Yamuna Authority. For this, about 6 stations will be constructed on this route. Later, the number of stations could be increased as per the rise in the population in adjoining areas,” he said.
