Dwarka Sector 23 police station head constable dies in a hit-and-run


The head constable of Sector 23 police station, Guljari Lal (52), died last night, at about 1 am, after being hit by a speeding vehicle at Sector 21 police picket.

A message on the incident was circulated by ACP Dwarka Rajender Singh across various RWAs groups in the hope of getting information about the yet unidentified vehicle.

He wrote, “With profound grief and sorrow, it is informed that our head constable from Sector 23 police station  namely Guljari Lal, 52 years, working last night at underpass of Sector 21 picket was fatally hit by an unknown vehicle. He was shifted to hospital, but declared brought dead. The vehicle must have entered in Dwarka at around 1 am. It is a car, no further details are available. Kindly ask your CGHS/DDA pockets guards to look for any such accidental vehicle must have entered/parked in their society premises after 1 am this morning. If any such vehicle is found, kindly inform us.”

President of Federation of RWAs of Sector 9, KS Bhati, said, “I have spread the message further to our internal groups of societies and residents and asked people to come forward if they have any kind of information.”

General secretary of Federation of Cooperative Group Housing Societies, Sudha Sinha, said, “The Federation has sent messages to RWAs and managements of about 350 societies. We are urging the RWAs to ask their guards and residents to see if any information can be had on the vehicle.”
