The Resident Welfare Association of Metro View Apartments (Sector 13) has demanded the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) make the back lane of the society properly operational following incidents of burglaries and other crimes occurred in recent times.
Talking to City Spidey on this issue, president of the RWA, Vinod Rawat said, “It has become a cause of concern for all of us. The road. which runs along the nullah, has an entrance from the metro corridor side but there is no exit. Besides, there are no streetlights and no security whatsoever. Being deserted and isolated, it has become a dwelling place for all sorts of miscreants, posing danger during the night time. I mean, the DDA should either close it or make it fully operational as any other common road.”
“We have been complaining the DDA for many years to make this road fully operational. There are no streetlights due to which all sorts of crimes take place. We have witnessed four to five incidents of burglaries last year. Thieves use this lane to enter our society, burgle things and escape from here. The civic body concerned should take the matter seriously,” general secretary of RWA, Arvind Rohila, said.
On the subject, Chief Engineer of DDA, Dwarka, RK Singh said that he would take the matter into concern and initiate steps to make the road properly operational.
