NMRC’s Aqua Line likely to get operational by end of Dec


The much-awaited Noida-Greater Noida Metro (Aqua Line) is likely to be made operational by the end of December. Sources in the Greater Noida Authority on Friday claimed that the preparation is going on in full swing.

As per the sources, the 29.8 km stretch will be opened for the commuters between December 22 and 25.

However, when City Spidey contacted a senior official associated with Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC), he said that the trials are presently going on but the final date to open it to the public is yet to be decided.

Earlier on November 12, the NMRC had announced that all the stations in the Aqua Line will be solar powered. Solar panels will be installed on all the 21 stations in the stretch.

The Aqua line will be connecting the residential hubs of Noida and Greater Noida. It will have 21 stations – Sectors 52, 51, 50, 78, 81, Dadri Road, Sectors 83, 137, 142, 143, 153, 149, Knowledge Park 1, 2, Pari Chowk, Alpha 1, 2 and Delta 1.

The Aqua Line will have an interchange station with the Delhi Metro at Noida Sector 52 metro station. The total estimated cost of the Aqua Line is 2,600 crore.
