Unhappy over the lacunae in the policy regarding the conversion of single point power connections to multipoint connections, the Noida Extension Flat Owners Association (NEFOWA) has written a letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
NEFOWA has been fighting for multipoint connections in the last year as builders used to charge hefty amounts for the supply of electricity to the individual flats. But, they are now miffed with the way builders are implementing this. The builders are now asking for an exorbitant amount for creating infrastructure for the conversion.
In the letter, they have pointed out the loopholes of the notification and requested timely intervention in the matter. They cited that it is ultimately the flat owners who will be at the receiving end.
They were worried that the flat owners will not get free from the clutches of the builders as setting up of infrastructure and the maintenance will still be in hands of builders. So, the whole idea of getting independent connections is a flawed proposition.
Vikas Kumar, a member of NEFOWA said, “We have been in direct contact with the buyers and the Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL). We were successful in extracting detailed information about the notification after several meetings.”
Kumar said that their long fight to get multipoint connections is going to become worthless because of the wrong policies of the government. He added that they will continue to fight for the buyer-centric policies just like they have been fighting for the multipoint connections.
NEFOWA has requested for an appointed with the CM and the UP Power Minister to discuss the matter as soon as possible. They want a detailed discussion with an aim to find a viable solution to the whole problem.
The NPCL officials have conducted meetings with homebuyers at different societies regarding the implementation of conversion to multipoint connections. But, the flat owners are not satisfied with the communication.
