In order to express their anger towards false promises made by the builder, over 200 people, including residents and flat owners, staged a protest inside the head office of Supertech Ecovillage 1 on Saturday. They shouted slogans against the director of Supertech, RK Arora and demanded immediate talks to resolve the issue. The protest continued till 3 pm.
When City Spidey spoke to Sumit Saxena, one of the residents of Ecovillage 1, and tried to know his concerns, he said, "Supertech management has failed to provide good facilities they promised at the time of booking. People often get stuck in the lifts. Moreover, the quality of water is also poor."
People were miffed with the fact the work is in progress on Supertech's commercial site but no construction work is happening on its residential site. Besides, the real estate company has been extending the deadline for owners to hand over the flats.
"Some of us had booked our flats in the year 2010 and have paid more than 80 per cent of the flat amount to the builder. Besides, we are paying our EMIs to the banks but now forced to live on rented accommodations! It has increased our financial burden and that is not acceptable anymore," said worried buyers. Flat owners pressed for a fixed date of possession from the builder. However, the vice president and director of Supertech, KL Khera and Vikas Kansal were ready to address their concerns but protesters denied to have talks with them.
When City Spidey tried to contact RK Arora, he was unavailable to comment. It is expected the director will meet troubled flat owners next week
