People from various societies celebrated “Children’s Day” with underprivileged children at the Sector 22 DDA Park in Dwarka on Sunday morning. The event was organised by a group called Sukh Dukh Ke Sathi (SDKS).
Children from various societies participated in various fun and sports activities along with the underprivileged children. They participated in painting competition and different races. The winners of these activities were also awarded.
Leader of the House, South Delhi Municipal Corporation and the area Councillor, Kamaljeet Sehrawat; Traffic Inspector, Rajender Singh and Professor from IP University Dwarka, Dr Dhananjay Joshi were present as honorable guests.
The guests interacted with the children and encouraged them to attend the schools. The people present on the occasion also encouraged children present during the event.
President of SDKS and a resident of Dream Apartments, Shashi Kapoor said, “We celebrated Children’s Day on Sunday as it was a holiday. We brought the children from the nearby construction sites. We wanted them to play and spend time with our children so that they could feel equality.”
Residents also interacted with the Leader of the House and the Traffic Inspector and shared some of their grievances related to sanitation and traffic.
During the celebration of Children's Day, Himmat Plus App of Delhi Police for women safety was also discussed by the Police Mitra Indu Garg. She made the women and children aware about the app.
She asked the women from different societies in the area to download the App and use it.
