At least 16 students of Apeejay School, Noida, were injured when their school bus (UP 16 ET 3431) hit a pillar near Rajnigandha Chowk underpass in Noida around 8 am on Saturday.
The students were immediately taken to the nearby Kailash hospital.
According to sources, four to five students were badly injured and have been admitted to hospital. Others were given first-aid and discharged.
However, the driver is said to be in critical condition.
According to parents, the incident happened owing to the callousness of Noida Authority. Construction work has been going on in the area and the materials are scattered everywhere. As a result, the bus skidded over sand and hit the underpass pillar.
