In a crime-related incident, four unknown miscreants snatched a white-coloured WagonR from an Ola driver on Noida-Greater Noida Expressway on Monday night.
When City Spidey asked local police about the details of the person, they said the victim, identified as Dinesh Kumar, is a native of Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia district. Police added the driver took the car on rent 50 days ago as the owner of the vehicle is Anuj Aggarwal, a resident of Govindpuram, Ghaziabad.
Replying to our question on what immediate action they took when they get to know the incident, police said since the GPS of the car was not working, they were unable to track it.
When we asked the driver about the whole incident, he narrated, “I offered them a ride from Logix City Centre to Gama 1 in Greater Noida, without a mobile booking around 10 pm. All of a sudden, these people, asked me to stop the car near Sector 135, citing nature’s call. The moment I stopped it, they overpowered me and covered my face with a scarf. Then, they dumped me on the roadside and fled with the car.”
Pankaj Panth, Station House Officer (SHO) of Sector 24 police station, said they have registered an FIR under Section 392 (Punishment for robbery) against the four unknown persons on the basis of a complaint received from the driver and the owner of the car.
“We are suspecting driver’s role too in the case. Well, the investigation is underway,” Panth said.
