NOFAA, FONRWA discuss range of civic issues with district in-charge of GB Nagar

The Noida Federation of Apartment Owners Association (NOFAA) and Federation of Noida Residents Welfare Association (FONRWA) on Wednesday met JP Singh who is the UP Minister for Excise and Prohibition and in-charge of the district Gautam Budh Nagar.

NOFAA demanded that the development work of bio-diversity park should be stopped by the Noida Authority and the forest area should be remained intact at Sector-91.

“We demanded that the fire department should be upgraded. We also asked for more police force in the city to make it a safer place to live,” Rajiva Singh, President of NOFAA said.

Singh also told City Spidey that they want the attention of the government on the depleting water levels in the district and also asked for some awareness program about rainwater harvesting in the city. Noida News

The NOFAA members also discussed the issue of builders. They said that the builders in Noida are delaying the handover of maintenance and IFMS of societies to AOAs. “In many societies, the builder has given the possession of the flats but the amenities like firefighting, rainwater harvesting have not been provided,” Singh said.

“The builders in Noida have not cleared the dues of Noida Authority and due to which registries of the flats are stuck. Builders have also hiked the maintenance charge without any audit and the electricity and water bills have not been given to them,” NOFAA members complained to the minister.

FONRWA demanded recognition of RWAs, the establishment of exclusive municipal divisions, public representation on Noida Board, conversion of leasehold land into freehold land and solid-waste management.

Representation on Noida Board was among the most important issues which were addressed in the meeting. They demanded at least two representatives from FONRWA in Noida Board.

According to FONRWA, the system of lease-hold property continues in Noida despite the city has been into existence in the last 40 years.

“Therefore, the residents of the city still feel insecure. A majority of the allottees in Noida have already paid one-time lease rent. Hence, this 99-year lease is gross injustice towards the residents. Successive governments in the past have simply used the promise for elections. It is high time that this demand was addressed," NP Singh, President of FONRWA said.

On the issue of waste management, Singh said, “There is no yard for the dumping of garbage. As a result, garbage collected from homes is thrown on the pavements or on vacant plots and this is a serious health hazard.”
