In the wake of the recent incidents of serial thefts and burglary inside the cooperative group housing societies (CGHS) in Dwarka, Federation of CGHS has planned to initiate a campaign to improve security within premises. RWAs, managements and police will also be involved in the campaign.
General secretary of Federation of CGHS, Dwarka, Sudha Sinha, said, “There’s dire need for such a campaign, as the recent incidents have revealed several gaps in internal security. Besides setting up direct meetings, we will also spread awareness through our WhatsApp groups.” Dwarka News
She added, “Training of guards under Delhi Police’s Prahri* scheme will be a major part of our campaign. We will ask societies to send guards for training. We’ll also have workshops in collaboration with the police and other security agencies.”
The Federation, which has about 200 societies under its aegis, has started meetings with managements of societies across Dwarka.
Secretary of Federation of CGHS, V Selvarajan, said, “We’ll certainly interface more with the police now. We’ll increase meetings with RWAs and training programmes for guards. Free medical check-up for society guards is also on the anvil.”
*Prahri is a Delhi Police scheme launched in Dwarka, which allows private security guards to be trained by the police.
